The Eyedropper tool helps you match the colors in your slides in PowerPoint. You can use this feature when you want to “pick” the color of another object on your slide. Even more, you can even extract the colors from pictures, shapes or other elements. Then you can use these colors so that your presentation looks more coherent.
Download Microsoft PowerPoint for macOS 10.13 or later and enjoy it on your Mac. This application requires a qualifying Microsoft 365 subscription. Microsoft 365 includes premium Word, Excel, and PowerPoint apps, 1 TB cloud storage in OneDrive, advanced security. If you're looking for a quick and easy to use color eye dropper with zoomed drag-able preview for fine tuning you've come to the right place. If you experience any bugs PLEASE report them using the feedback button, I want to fix them if they can be fixed. It has been reported that it may take a few tries before it starts working initially.
Compared to Canva’s Color Palette Generator, which you can use to generate the whole color palette of an image, eyedropper extracts just one color – the one you clicked on. However, that by itself is really handy. Whenever you want to make a box, chart or just a text in the exact same color as something else on the slide. So how does this work? It’s pretty simple!
1. First, you need to click on the object that you want to match colors for. If you want to select multiple, do it while holding down Ctrl button.

2. Then, click on Shape Fill to open it’s drop-down menu.
3. Click on the Eyedropper tool.
4. Now you can choose which color you want to “pick” from your slide.
Advanced Tip: Did you know that you can even pick colors outside of PowerPoint with the Eyedropper? It’s easy! After clicking on the tool, just hold the mouse button and drag it to the color you want to match (wherever this is on your screen). When the mouse is over the desired object (color) just release the button and you’ll extract the color.
5. While you move the mouse over the different colors, you will notice a cool feature of the Eyedropper. You will see a live preview of the color while over it. PowerPoint also gives you it’s RGB color coordinates! To choose it just click on the color. If you want to be more precise, use Enter or Spacebar instead.
6. If you want to cancel the Eyedropper, press the Escape button.
